IIRC the font problem appeared at the time when the qt line spacing problem 
was fixed.

IMHO unifont has a memory leak - selecting unifont or opening kword with 
unifont just consumed about 400 MB (!!!) and froze X for some minutes. 
Closing Kword frees the memory again.
