| Again, perhaps this is something that is Kword independent,

what you need to do in order to obtain good Japaneese scalable TrueType fonts
is:
* reboot to Windows
* launch MS IE and go to some Japaneese web site
* MS IE will prompt you wether you want to install "Japanese text support"
Answer "yes", and after few minutes 9assuming that you are on dial-up,
otherwise it will be faster) MS IE will download and install Japaneese fonts.

Than go to c:\windows\fonts directory and check what filtes exactly
Windows/MS IE installed.
Than install those fonts either via KFontInstaller or
- copy font to <your fonts dirctory listed in XftConfig>
 (I assume you have RENDER exte3nsion and Anti-Aliasing enabled, and your
XFree86 version is at least XF 4.1.0)
- run from the command prompt / console
#xftcache
this command will update cache of installed fonts and add Japaneese fonts to
the list of available fonts in KWord.

Hope this helps.
