The problem is that you have to select letter every time, you can't set the 
paper size (default) to letter and have it stick.  The default should be able 
to be set and stick forever...until or unless you change it.  

This problem used to exist with the kde print system too.  You used to set 
your default paper size to letter now, expecting that it would stick but the 
next time you print, say a website, you find that it has reverted to A4 
instead and totally dicked up the printout.  

I'd say that it should be tied to country, just as a nice means of setting 
default behavior from install - subject to the user changing it.  If I set my 
country to USA, A4 is just not there.  Letter is the primary format in the 
USA so setting country to USA should also set the default page size for 
printers, for kword, for kedit, etc, etc, to letter.

It should never be the case that the page size keeps going back to A4 after 
closing your app so that it has to be changed again when the app is reopened.
