Neil,

I'm working on integrating my database server into koffice.  If you are 
interested in database software let me know.

I'm also working on some security software that works with Linux, FreeBSD, 
NetBSD, etc. (all the free platforms) but is not specific to koffice.  
However, parts of this project will involve koffice functionality through 
firewalls.

A word of encouragement:  I am in a similar (contracting) situation, except 
that I have 2o years of experience.  Motorola cut the "two year" contract I 
was on last February, and I've done a series of very short term contracts 
since then.  Yesterday, FINALLY, I obtained a six month contract that uses 
about 1/2 my time.  I now have two contracts running simultaneously so that 
I'm making a reasonable amount of money again, at least for the next two 
months.  So, I think (or, perhaps it is better to say that I hope) that 
things are finally starting to pick up.
