I'm not sure, if this is a good idea. It's okay when thinking about memory, 
but I prefer having the file attached in the moment I write the message. 
Then I can have the message in the outbox for a while, and the attachment 
is not affected by any changes to the file (until the moment when the 
message is sent).
Sometimes I do produce some temporary files. Then I attach them to 
messages, afterwards I can delete them independently from whether the 
messages have already been sent or not.

This is my private POV, others may have other opinions. Would be nice to 
have this discussed before changing the current behaviour.
