Package: kmail
Version: 1.2.9 (using KDE 2.2.0 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot)
Severity: normal
Installed from: Compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 [FreeBSD] 20010315 (release)
OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 4.3-STABLE
OS/Compiler notes:

kmail settings: Threads are opened automatically, for new or unread messages

Situation: In folders for mailing lists, I first delete unimportant mails. But if you \
delete the first message of a thread, the list will be newly sorted and the rest of \
the thread therefore is spread by date over the other messages.

Situation is even worse as the next message after your deleted one is automatically \
marked read and after some events like this, you're facing a folder, unthreaded and \
with numerous messages marked read randomly, you never looked at (the ones after your \
deleted mails).

Todo:
Disable sorting of lists after mail deletion; resorting should be done only after \
entering a folder.

Wishlist:
Marking mails read only after some seconds, not immediately.
Preview pane should be switchable, to prevent at all that mails will be marked read \
automatically.
