From kmail-devel Wed Jul 18 14:31:29 2001 From: siegbert.baude () gmx ! de Date: Wed, 18 Jul 2001 14:31:29 +0000 To: kmail-devel Subject: Bug#29263: sorting of mails is changed after deletion of thread's first mail X-MARC-Message: https://marc.info/?l=kmail-devel&m=99546696025849 Package: kmail Version: 1.2.9 (using KDE 2.2.0 CVS/CVSup/Snapshot) Severity: normal Installed from: Compiled sources Compiler: gcc version 2.95.3 [FreeBSD] 20010315 (release) OS: FreeBSD (i386) release 4.3-STABLE OS/Compiler notes: kmail settings: Threads are opened automatically, for new or unread messages Situation: In folders for mailing lists, I first delete unimportant mails. But if you delete the first message of a thread, the list will be newly sorted and the rest of the thread therefore is spread by date over the other messages. Situation is even worse as the next message after your deleted one is automatically marked read and after some events like this, you're facing a folder, unthreaded and with numerous messages marked read randomly, you never looked at (the ones after your deleted mails). Todo: Disable sorting of lists after mail deletion; resorting should be done only after entering a folder. Wishlist: Marking mails read only after some seconds, not immediately. Preview pane should be switchable, to prevent at all that mails will be marked read automatically. (Submitted via bugs.kde.org) (Called from KBugReport dialog.
