The font used for the composer is the same as the font used in the 
message window. But due to a bug in khtml (?) they are currently 
displayed in different sizes.

This button is for signing the message with PGP/GnuPG.

BTW, calling the signature "signature" was a bad decision when it was 
first invented. A better name would have been footer. Then there would 
now be no confusion between the signature (or footer) and the (PGP) 
signature. But unfortunately we can't change it anymore because calling 
the footer "signature" has in the meantime become standard.
