Good example, Andreas.
I can live with not seeing the number of unread messages of the folder 
with the very, very long name because the name is displayed in bold if 
it contains new messages. But I don't want not to be able to see the 
number of unread messages for all the other folders (with shorted 
names) just because one folder has a very long name. This is why I 
prefer the way the "unread" number is currently displayed in KMail.
