You must enter the correct path in
Settings->Configuration...->Network
->(Your local account)->Modify...->Location.

I'm trying to create a identity for downloading mail from an IMAP server. Have \
created ~/.fetchmailrc file as described in the FAQ. Create new local user, as \
described in the Kmail FAQ. Upon trying to load mail, I receive the following error \
message: "Unable to open file://var/spool/mail/<username>"
