Subject: Bug#24341: kmail prefs don't stay local across ssh x forwarding
From: gellenburg () freedom ! net

Package: kmail
Version: KDE 2.1.1
Severity: normal
Installed from: Caldera RPMs
Compiler: 2.2.14
OS: Linux
OS/Compiler notes: Not Specified
I routinely access my home computer from work using my laptop.
My home computer is running Caldera eDesktop 2.4. KDE 2.1.1.
My laptop is running Solaris 8 x86 with KDE 2.1.1 compiled from sources.
When I do:
ssh -X -C -l gme aaa.bbb.ccc.ddd kmail
Kmail starts up (running from home), and I can see all my mailboxes and folders, but \
none of my key-bindings work, or filters, and I'm prompted by the Kmail running \
remotely that I need to setup a profile in the network config before I can check my \
mail.
It's like the config files are not being read by the kmail process which is running \
remotely, but the app is reading the config files from the laptop.
Looks almost like a DCOP issue.
Any ideas?
