[.liebes tagebuch.] - hello.
some days ago i sent stefan taferner an e-mail, including (next to may thanks
for kmail - i think it's really comfortable to work with & detected no
problems until now) a short list of features i would really appreciate in the
next versions of your fine program ;-) he told me to send it to you, so i do:
- i often have to send mails to not one or two, but a whole group of people;
the "to:" field (or the address-fields in general) provided by kmail's mail
editor shows addresses in one single row. with a view to greater clarity, i'd
like kmail to recognize whether the addresses fit into that row, and if they
don't, place them in a column, one below the other. it would be great if one
could alter the size of the address-window as well (say, see five rows, each
with one address, and a scrollbar if there are more than five).
- if you use <ctrl>-t to complete email-addresses from kab, only the first
address assigned to the given name is used, whereas if there are more people
in kab with that name, you can choose one (but then again only the very first
address of the chosen one is filled in automatically). i could use an
additional dialog to choose between all e-mail-addresses kab knows for one
person.
- i miss a "deny/reject"-filter option, e.g. to block mails when they are
larger than a given size. i don't know if it's possible at all, but imho a
perfect feature would be if you could configure kmail to maybe get all the
headers first to let you decide if certain mails should be downloaded,
rejected or whatever, in addition to the filters. that would be a window
saying "on your providers server, there are mails for you from x, y & z,
subjects bla bla, size x kb. click ok to proceed as usual (download & use of
given filters) or change filter options on these mails, if you like."
- another configuration option i miss is the possibility to make folders
behave as "from"- or "to"-folders; i usually move sent mails from the
sent-folder to folders i created. searching for certain mails there is
uncomfortable, since next to 'subject' and 'date' it shows only the
'from'-address, which is obviously my own ;-) so, if you could just
configure for each folder which header contents it should show, that could be
a useful thing.
hwuow - that's a lot... sorry for that ;-) i hope this is of use for you a
little. thanks in advance & all the best for your project(s),
greets -
m.eik
