Subject: Kmail errors on checking pop3, specification issue?
From: vince@site5.com

Package: kmail
Version: Qt: 2.2.3,
KDE: 2.0,
KMail: 1.2.
Severity: grave
Installed from: .deb

We've recently changed our pop3d on some of our hosting machines to a proprietary \
version. I don't have the source to this, and the binarys aren't publicly available. \
I can provide email accounts for testing though.

This is from our new pop3d:

---
+OK POP3
USER vince@onetonehosting.com
+OK Need a password
PASS ********
+OK You have 1 messages totaling 971 octets from /home/onetoneh/mail/vince/inbox
LIST
+OK 1 messages (971 octets)
1 971
.
QUIT
+OK Bye!
Connection closed by foreign host.
---

This is from the old one:

---
+OK Cubic Circle's v1.31 1998/05/13 POP3 ready <a914000001814c3a@portal>
USER vince
+OK vince selected
PASS *******
+OK Congratulations!
LIST
+OK 0 messages (0 octets)
.
QUIT
+OK Was it as good for you, as it was for me? (clean as a baby)
Connection closed by foreign host.
---

The only difference I can notice is the responce to PASS, how does KDE handle pop3 \
responces?

Kmail errors with:

---
Error - Kmail
Please send a full bug report at http://bugs.kde.org.
Unexpected responce from POP3 server.
---

Any insight on this would be appreciated.

Regards,
Vince.
