Hi,

No offence, I only fear, that it can make KMail more unstable and we have 
all limited time and also other things to fix. I understand of course, that 
now is probably the best time to apply and not later. I don't object, but I'm 
also not very happy with it.

For example:
Apply your patch, compose a new message with an attachment and queue it. Then 
click on it in the outbox.
I can recompile with debug information, if you can't reproduce.
