  In high res with lots of folders, long list is better.
  In lower res, regardless of the number of folders, I find short list is
better.  It's hard to fit even the header of an email in at 800x600 with long
list.  even 1024x768 isn't fun.  I'd have to say long list is more of a
1280x1024 or better thing (although I'm sure many of you will argue that)
