I played a bit with the font settings and the apply button and found that the first \
apply did not apply anything. Changing another thing and pressing "apply" a second \
time applies the first change, changing a third setting, "apply" applies the second \
one and so forth. To get the last change applied I had to close the settings with \
"ok", alternatively close it with "cancel", reopen it and close it with "ok". \
