Summary: Changing Shortcuts for 'next' 'previous' message do not
                    affect shift-next or shift-previous.
           Product: kmail
           Version: 1.9.1
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kmail-devel kde org
        ReportedBy: dbs stonekeep com

Version: 1.9.1 (using KDE KDE 3.5.1)
Installed from: Ubuntu Packages
OS: Linux

When using the Settings->Configure Shortcuts to redefine some of the \
navigation keys (I've redefined the Left and Right 'prev' 'next' functions \
to Up and Down arrow, which I find more intuitive), the option for \
selecting multiple messages is still bound to the old keystrokes, and the \
Configure Shortcuts menu has no way of changing that. In fact, to select \
multiple messages, shift-left and shift-right still select multiples, while \
up and down move the pointer. Only one of hte selections changed.

Note I am not railing against the default keyboard layout for kmail, that \
is a choice the developers have made. But a function redefinition should \
be possible and complete. _______________________________________________
