------- Hi there Andreas
Yes, it's the message filter which is located on top and to the right of \
the message list.
While investigating a way to replicate the bug (it happened to me a lot but \
I only decided to submit the bug today) I stumbled on something which is a \
bug but I don't know if it can be considered directly related to this bug \
report.
What happened was that I had two emails in my inbox. Only one was unread. I \
selected the unread one and switched the message filter list to "unread". \
Then, I deleted the unread mail. What happened was that although no message \
was listed in the message list (due to the filter), kmail automatically \
opened the unread message.
About the "folder switching", the filter is indeed switched back to "any \
status". Unfortunately, when I select the previous folder, the filter \
doesn't switch back to the selected filter. Apparently that means that the \
filter always defaults to "any status" and doesn't pay attention to the \
user's choices. IMHO kmail would improve a lot if the filter state which \
the user selected was always preserved. \
