Just a few comments without having looked at the code:
- Full text indexing is definitely something we should have.
- There's already code for this in KMail (I think since make-it-cool), 
but it's disabled. Don can probably say more about this.
- I will most likely not have the time to have a closer look at it in 
the next few weeks or even months.
- How does this integrate with the desktop wide search some people are 
said to be working on?
