Summary: KMail quits polling for incomming mail
Product: kmail
Version: unspecified
Platform: Compiled Sources
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
AssignedTo: kmail@kde.org
ReportedBy: rick@soloca.com
Version: 1.5.4 (using KDE 3.1.4)
Installed from: compiled sources
Compiler: gcc version 3.2.2
OS: Linux (i686) release 2.4.21
In my KMail configuration I have 5 incomming accounts. Four of these use POP and one \
is a local account. For the POP accounts, I have configured a "Check Interval" \
values from 7 to 31 minutes.
When I first start up KMail, it checks for new mail at the configured intervals and \
everything works. Sometimes, usually after it has been running for several hours, I \
notice that it has quit checking for new mail. If I attempting to manually check for \
new mail using "Check Mail" or "Check Mail In" from the File menu, nothing happens. \
When this happens, stopping & restarting KMail does not fix the problem. I have \
cleared the problem by stopping & restarting KDE/X11. Also, one at least one \
occasion, it started working again after stopping KMail waiting 30 minutes or so and \
then starting it up again.
I cannot reproduce this problem at will. However, it has been happening several \
times a week. If you need additional information, let me know and I will capture \
whatever you need the next time it happens. \
