No.

No it doesn't. It doesn't make sense because the core will never act as 
a server, it's the exposure of the DCOP interfaces that allows it to 
communicate with other apps. Remember that we allow only local 
connections to DCOP. Also note that this not about viewing messages but 
a lot more fain grained communication. We already have 
MailTransportIface and kmailicalIface and those are the ones that 
should be run without GUI and there's no way to map those to imap.
