I'd very much like this feature to be added - it's a feature I use all the time
in my current Win32 mail & news client, Forte Agent, and is something I miss a
lot in Kmail.

For me there's no substitute when dealing with large quantities of mail
distributed across lots of folders, some of which I want to keep for archive
purposes, but most of which is just rubbish to be discarded.

The only alternative is to make up two related sets of folders, and spend a lot
of time moving the valuable messages from the initial folders to the "keep"
folders before purging the initial folders.

In Forte Agent, marking a message for keeping is as easy as pressing "K". The
message is then immune from any form of deletion, whether manual action, or
automatic purging. Such a feature would be great in Kmail.
