I like the idea, and it is a definite improvement upon the current logic. 
However, I believe the labels could use some work. Perhaps

Unread Count Appears ->
	As Separate Column
	After Folder Name

I rarely see "Foldername" as one word. If "Unread Count Appears" is too long, 
perhaps the "Appears" can be moved inside, like

Unread Count ->
	Appears As Separate Column
	Appears After Folder Name
