Well, that's not the answer I wanted, but it's a help.

Is KMail unable to check new messages in *any* folder? I had started to
install an IMAPd, but is it going to require a restart in order to check
for new IMAP messages?

I'm starting to have visions of a wrapper that kills KMail and then
immediately restarts it anytime a mail folder changes. Ick.

Any chance of getting this stuff fixed in a future version? I can stick
with other mailers for awhile, but I was trying to standardize on as much
KDE stuff as I can. Even if it works through IMAP, it'd be nice to be
able to go straight to the maildirs (like Mutt and others).

Thank you.
