Last time I switched to 8bit it was because the bug system had problems with
quoted-printable.

Why should this be handled different for signed message parts?
I still think the advanced user should be able to choose. For the average user
the default is quoted-printable.

BTW: I recieve _all_ incoming mail in 8-bit, independant how they were sent,
because my incoming mail server converts them from quoted-printable to 8-bit.

Well, according to the X-MIME-Autoconverted header it is now my own computer
and no longer the the firewall converting. However changing /etc/sendmail.cf
and restarting sendmail doesn't seem to have any effect.

In the case you recieve this mail also in 8bit, it was sendmail. In KMail I 
have chosen quoted printable.
