Hmm, the reason for this is most likely that some MTA converted the 
8-bit character ö (0xF6) to the 7-bit character v (0x76) by simply 
ignoring the 8th bit.

It's obivously a bad idea that the signed data was transmitted with cte 
8bit. Did you configure KMail to use 8-bit (Configure KMail...->Network 
- ->Sending->Message property)?

If yes, then you should select "Quoted printable".

If no, then this is just another Aegypten bug.

Signed data should IMO always be QP-encoded to prevent the above 
problem. Or would this cause interoperability problems with the other 
Sphinx compliant programs? Karl-Heinz?
