The OpenPGP spec says SHOULD support PGP/MIME (or whatever it's 
officially called) and not MUST.
Furthermore the reason for still not supporting PGP/MIME is that the 
MIME library resp. the message classes we used (and which will be 
replaced by something completely different) weren't appropriate for 
this, i.e. adding PGP/MIME support would have been an ugly hack.

Well, but someone has to write the module with the "old support". Who 
will do this? Obviously Werner won't do it because that would mean that 
he has to include PGP 2 support.

As long as people who can't use GnuPG, for whatever the reasons may be, 
will be still able to use encryption with KMail this is fine for me.
