What's new (compared to v0.2)? [KNode developers please see below]

- - The user's decision in case of more than one user id matching the
recipients address resp. no user id matching the recipients address are
now stored in kpgprc (if the user wants his decision to be remembered).
So the next time the user encrypts a message for this recipient he
won't be asked again for the key which should be used.

That's all for now. In kdenetwork/kmail nothing changed since my last
patch but I provide a new version of this patch because the old patch
doesn't apply anymore without problems.

I'm currently working on adapting KNode to my changes. Therefore I have
to add the possibility to enter the "Prefered signing key" to KNode. I
already added it to the "Signing/Verifying" Configuration tab but I
think the Identity tab is more appropriate for this because people
might want to use different signing keys for different news groups.
Nevertheless I attached my current changes in KNode for your
information.

After making the necessary changes I'll provide another patch and then
I'd like to commit my changes soon after.

Regards,
Ingo

P.S.: The following message erroneously wasn't cc'ed to knode-devel.

Subject: [PATCH v0.2] Changes in Kpgp*
Date: Fri, 19 Oct 2001 23:25:15 +0200
From: Ingo Klöcker <ingo.kloecker@epost.de>
To: kmail@kde.org

What's new (compared to v0.1)?

- - Moved UI stuff from kpgp.* to kpgpui.*
- - Removed one of the key selection dialogs (the one with the combobox).
- - Changed the configuration of the "Default PGP Key" (formerly known as
"PGP User Identity"). It now uses the improved key selection dialog.
- - Attach public keys also know uses the improved key selection dialog.
- - Colorful display of signed/encrypted messages.
- - Colorbar to indicate PGP/Non PGP/HTML messages.
- - Some minor stuff and maybe some other things I forgot to mention.

Important notes:

- - This stuff currently only works with GnuPG. PGP2 and PGP6 might also
work. PGP5 won't work (because currently keys can't be read with PGP5).
- - You'll have to configure the "Default PGP Key" in all your identities.
As I use a different key for storing this info in the kmailrc you can
safely test my patch.
- - So far everything seems to work with my patch, but I haven't used
encryption heavily (only some simple tests) so please be careful.
- - Apart from the attached diffs you also need to update libkdenetwork
from cvs to get kpgpkey.* and kpgpui.* which I just commited.

Todo:
- - Store decisions from key selection dialogs.
- - Make colors configurable.
- - Make colorbar configurable.
Furthermore cf. my reply to Michel Bouissou's message about "KMail /
GnuPG integration".

Regards,
Ingo
