Subject: Spread KJSEmbed - Kokpit
X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.0.3 (2005-04-27) on ktown.kde.org
Hi,
To increase the populatiry of KJSEmbed, an application which everyone
needs and which makes heavyly use of kjsembed would help. I have an
idea for such an app - Kokpit:
Do you know Apples Dashboard? Imagine a little tray-icon. When you
click it, you get a fullscreen blackboard where you can place stiky
notes and other kinds of applets. This applets could be written in
JS, draw themself with KHTML/CSS and communicate with the rest of the
world (=the desktop) via DCOP.
KJSEmbed provides the funtions to draw QT-widgets out of .ui-files,
KHTML can render fancy widgets written in html and css.
If such an aapplication would exists, it won't take much time and the
web will be full of Kokpit-Applets which controll amaroK, translate
using dict.leo.org, convert miles in kilometers, what ever. And all
this can be easyly done by non-programmers using JavaScript. Such a
Kokpit-Applet won't be more then a tar.bzip containing the .js, maybe
some .ui, some graphics, html and css...
Every new technology needs a killerapplication which make use of it
What do you thing?
Jonas
