Hm..

On my work machine (xfree 4.0.2, kde 2.2alpha (redhat rpms), permedia 2) it 
sucks.  On my home machine (xfree 4.0.2, kde 2.1 (debian, via kde.tdyc.com), 
geforce2 MX), it's fine!

so either it's a permedia 2 issue, or a kde2.2alpha issue..  drop the bug for 
now :-)
