Local HTML parsing is slow ( opening file:///home/smu/bleargh.html ) and remote HTML
doesn't work at all ( http://www.os.is, http://www.hi.is <-- simple pages )

My setup:
  KDE 2 ß3 for SuSE ( from ftp.kde.org ), SuSE 6.4, /opt/kde is a symlink to /opt/kde2
