Well Ok, some more explanation. IŽll paint a little ASCII drawing:

You have the first one as a beginning. 
If you do "Split Window Vertical" youŽll get to 2a.
If you do "Spilt View Horizontal" in view 1 youŽll get to 2b.
No new menubars. Should we rename the menu options?
IMO the user will learn it quite fast by doing.
