BTW, talking about the history, can you verify this:
Open up ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/ in Konqy.
Click on a html or txt file, so that KonqTxtView shows up.
Then press the back button, in order to fire up the previous directory.
boom, I get a messagebox telling me "cannot enter directory foobar" .

Since this works fine for local files I'm not really sure if it's the
history's fault or kio_ftp's ...
