I would also vote for dropping the per-URL settings. They were(and still
are) useful and neccessary in kfmII. But in konqueror I think it is the
better(cleaner) solution to have two sets of default values, one for
file/ftp browsing and one for HTML browsing. All further adjustment
should be taken care of by the session management. Are their other
possible mode that might come up? Then the new design should at least be
prepared to allow easy integration of them.

Btw: I think two views are enough. If it is split up in letīs say four
views you need a large screen to make them useful. But if you have a
large screen anyway you can just open another kfm, ehh
sorry...konqueror:), window.
The only thing I thought of was always having a _complete_ tree in a
third leftmost view.
