Subject:    double clicking to launch an application

I have never been able to do this, and god knows, I have tried.  I've
already noticed that $KDEDIR/filetypes has been replaced by
$KDEDIR/mimetypes, and I can change the icons on types of files no
problem...but I can't get ANYTHING to work with a double click to launch
the default app...is this feature just broken right now?
