Hi Sven!

I don't know, if this is a bug or a feature, but I did a test with your
new toolbartest and found some interesting behaviour:

I've put the toolbar (don't matter, which one) left, then clicked on float
and found it switching all the time. Don't know, if this has something to
do with my Solaris X server or if this happens too under Linux.
It happens if I float a left or a right one, but it didn't happen, if I 
float a top or bottom one.
