The application that gets loaded might be incompatible with the library that 
gets loaded. This happens when the application uses a different C-lib or a 
different executable format for example. (Do you remember a.out?)

So you will get bugreports like "my proprietary xyz application for 
calculating mass-density of collapsing starts doesn't work under KDE" because 
this application still uses libc0.67 or something equally obscure.
