|      Well, I can look deeper later, but one thing I notice right off is
| that QRegEx does not support multi-line :-) It seems to have a couple other
| differences too. On initial look, I think pcre is closer to the js spec.

may be, in this case it makes sense to report problem to TrollTech 
(<qt-bugs@trolltech.com>) and get support for multi-line RegExp in QT3?
QT3 is in Beta, so it's right time to patch it.
