---------------------------------------
Browser Load time
Opera 11 sec.
Konqueror	28 sec.
Mozilla 28 sec.
Galeon 23 sec.
Skipstone	12 sec.
Netscape	9 sec.

"The test system is a low spec machine: a 166 MHz Pentium (no MMX), 32 MB of
RAM, running Mandrake 8, and the Blackbox window manager. All browsers are
versions that shipped with Mandrake 8. Let the battle commence. "

I am wondering if this guy was reading Mandrake instructions.
AFAIK Mandrake recommends min.64MB of RAM for LM 8.0
It's nice that you can run Linux on 32MB of RAM, but test results are not
representative in his article.

I can tell that run LM 8.0, and Mozilla 0.9.2 starts in >30sec. (Pentium
III-600Mhz, 128MB of RAM)
Konq was starting in around 3sec. in KDE 2.1 and KDE 2.2beta, while in KDE
2.2final startup time increased to more than 6 sec.

<Quote> "Skipstone, based on the Mozilla engine, loaded quickly in comparison
to its other Mozilla-based counterparts. Konqueror and Mozilla took more than
three times as long to load as Netscape, which is not a good sign." </Quote>

I am not familiar with this browser (Skipstone) but can guess that it uses
just pure X, same as Netscape Navigator 4.7. I am also surprised to see big
startup time for Galeon - from my expereince, it launches quite fast, much
faster than Mozilla.
Hi also stated that uses BlackBox Window Manager for testing. So, for
Konqueror, KDE (libs) startup time is added in Konq's startup time.
(and for galeon - Gnome's startup time)
From his tests, it just looks like for me that 32MB of RAM is not enough to
run either Gnome or KDE.

<Quote> "Mozilla: You have a choice. You can either have it look like the
familiar Netscape or the modern interface. The modern interface looks
gorgeous. Sleek and stylish, Mozilla wins in the looks department. The
interface is both usable and easy on the eye. It's also a lovely change to
see something other than grey." </Quote>
I am wondering have he tried one of my themes? :-))

(and, yes, I was considering to make "Mozilla" theme, but found it too basic
and no worth to implement; but I am open for suggestions)

As there is no his e-mail address on linked page, I wonder to whom should we
send comments?
Tink, can you contact original author?..
