Hi,

I've noticed that if VRRP is set up with identical priorities, and both
routers is in MASTER state (for example because the network segment
being serviced is partitioned), they do not recover after the network
segment is rejoined. Both stay in MASTER mode, no messages are being
logged. However, curiously enough, one of them will cease transmitting
VRRP advertisements.

Shouldn't a new MASTER election have been forced in this case?

Here's the configuration used (Keepalived is version 1.2.1):

vrrp_instance rl-ms-test_vr1 {
        interface rl-ms-test
        state BACKUP
        mcast_src_ip 10.20.1.112 # this is different on the other router
        virtual_router_id 1
        priority 100
        preempt_delay 60
        virtual_ipaddress {
                10.20.4.65/26
        }
}

If the priorities are made different, the re-election happens without
any issues and the cluster recovers to master/backup state.
