Please look into the messages view on the bottom, it shows you the configure command \
that is executed (make sure to choose long output under settings->configure \
kdevelop). It should read something like CPPFLAGS="-fprofile-arcs -ftest-coverage" \
configure ...  If it doesn't, the problem is in KDevelop, if that works the problem \
is autotools, in which case you should try to find an autotools guru ;)
