           Summary: "running htmerge failed" htdig
           Product: kdevelop
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Debian testing
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
        AssignedTo: kdevelop-bugs kdevelop org
        ReportedBy: arne.anka ginguppin de

Version: 3.2.0 (using KDE KDE 3.3.2)
Installed from: Debian testing/unstable Packages
OS: Linux

for a few years i sometimes checked kdevelop and found always the same problem, now i \
need to do real work with kdevelop it's still not gone. in the search-tab click \
"update index" and it undoubtedly ends up with "running htmerge failed", no matter \
what i change and switch. you may say "check the documentaion" -- but the \
documentation index does not know about htdig or htmerge. the best hit was "Setting \
Up Text Search Indexes (... to be written ...)" ... and even if there where a \
paragraph ... after configuring search in the preferences i expect it to work! no \
fixing of files deep in .kde. i've seen it with several fresh kdevelop-installation \
from scratch and expect usefull defaults not a configuration-file in a even more \
cryptic folder-structure.

btw: the error-message should be far more expressive -- just "failed" helps not much.
