Thanks Anne, for the quick reply,
I will go ahead and delete all index files...
please tell me, WHAT is causing this ?
This is a new installed, and just imported my kmail files,
been running for about a several days, when this started, after a dozen
updates, for kubuntu.

Enclosing: my point is always been, a unified database (sql) backend for kmail
