I'm finding kontact mail (kmail I guess) to be less and less responsive as of 
late, perhaps because my mail folder and daily volume has increased 
dramatically.  I'm running disconnected imap on kmail 1.9.6 on an Intel Core 
Duo system  @ 2.16GHz w/ 2 GB RAM.  While kmail is downloading mail, it takes 
several seconds (5 to 20) to change folders and update the mail preview pane.  
It just kills productivity.  Does the mail download routine not run in a 
separate thread?  I'm trying to understand why I can't update the view and 
have it do that in the background...
