You will have to post actual error messages to get much out of this. In 
addition, I suggest you join #kpilot on IRC irc.kde.org for "live help".

Current KPilot svn (update again) around r.600 uses cmake to build and seems 
to build faster and more stable. Use

	make -f Makefile.cmake

You will need to

1) have cmake 2.4.3 installed
2) have pilot-link 0.12.1 installed

I believe both have packages for your Kubuntu version.
