You can save single mails with File->Save As. If you want to export entire 
folders or even all messages, you can pretty easily simply copy the files on 
disk. By default they're in ~/.kde/share/apps/kmail/mail/. The messages 
themselves are in the files/directories (depending on whether you use mbox or 
maildir format) not beginning with a period. Subfolders of a particular 
folder are in .<Folder>.directory.
