An off-list suggestion was that I should run both.  The poster said that there 
would be no problems of incompatibility, and it seems that he was right.  Now 
the filters are set to classify as spam if either bogofilter or SA think it 
is spam.  According to that person, bogofilter is better at some kinds of 
spam, and SA is better at others.  He has been running them in tandem for 
some time, so probably is offering reliable information.
