Thanks Adriaan
  Disabling Conduit Notebook allowed the Zire 72 to finish the Sync and 
populate the correct dir with data ( /home/bobby/.kde/share/apps/kpilot/XXX).
  The Second problem still exists. Kontact now has at its disposable the 
kpilot  transfered Calander and to-do list information but I can not seem to 
get the Address Book/Contacts and the Notes/Memos into Kontact  Contacts and 
Notes.
  How do I accomplish this task?
