Well, if you check the postings on this list, there's several cases -
deopending on the version you're using - where things don't sync
p[roperly, addresses and datebook entries may be eaten, and kpilot crashes
on some common databases in newer devices - so you need the skip-databases
functionality, which was re-introduced recently.

Bascially, the message is meant to indicate: make an extra backup using
the pilot-link tools (pilot-xfer -b to make a backup). Keep it safe. Make
backups of your other data too.
