How to do what?

You can enable debug info for kio_pop3 by running kdebugdialog, looking 
for kio_pop3 and checking the appropriate checkbox. Then any new 
kio_pop3 should write some debug information to ~/.xsession-errors (or 
whereever the debug output of X apps is redirected to on your system).

And in order to compile kio_pop3 with debug information either configure 
kdebase with --enable-debug=full or, if you've already compiled kdebase 
without debug info, go to kdebase/kioslave/pop3, run 'make clean', run 
'adddebug' (this is in the kdesdk cvs module) and then run 'make 
install'.
